![]() ![]() I solved it by asking him to use the jvm installed on Ubuntu and not the version shipped with MATLAB. That means Matlab has trooble loading the Java Virtual Machine. Replace matlab -desktop with the full executable path (default: /usr/local/MATLAB/R2012a/bin/matlab) /usr/local/MATLAB/R2012a/bin/matlab -desktop or you can add the Matlab bin folder in your path at login adding this line in your /.profile PATH=$PATH:/usr/local/MATLAB/R2012a/bin Failure loading desktop class Fatal Error on startup: Internal Error: Failure occurs during desktop startup.
