I try plugging in Row1 to see whether it was the speakers that blew or whether it was the PA. It works! Awesome! I test Row3 by plugging it into the Bogen. It works! Awesome! I test Row2 by plugging it into the Bogen. I test Row1 by plugging it into the Bogen. I rewire the system so that the first two speakers are on one row (Row1), second two speakers are on an independent line(Row2), and remaining three speakers are on an independent line(Row3). He suggests I buy a PA System that can handle more watts. We unplug it, I return it, electronics store guy says he thinks the PA system can't handle the 16w continuously and that is why it is overheating. The PA system is scorching hot and smells like burning plastic. Plug in the replacement and the sound is great again. He figures it was a defective system and replaces it. Return PA system back to electronics store and guy takes it apart and one of the internal parts is blown and the pa system is shot. Cruise into work a week later and the sound coming from the speakers is very weak and muffled and I can barely hear the music. Connect speakers to specopvl30a, plug in my IPOD and it works. I attach transformers to each speaker using the 2.5w line for 6 of the speakers and 1w line for the 7th for a total of 16w for all speakers. Local electronics store convinced me to put 70v transformers on the speakers and use SpecoPVå…ƒ0A PA system. Total of (7) 8ohm speakers on the system. I manage a restaurant and existing speaker system receiver crapped out.
